ChitoHem is a hemostatic powder derived from natural cellulose.
Its suitable for all types of bleeding particularly arterial bleeding.
The mechanism of hemostasis of ChitoHem is two fold, on the one
hand fine particles of ChitoHem powder by absorbing blood fluids
increase concentration of blood elements, and on the other hand positive charges
of ChitoHem powder attracts negative charges of blood elements and encourages
clotting process.

Using Way : |
1-General bleedings:
- Clean the bleeding site with SilvoSept Spray.
- Directly sprinkle the powder on bleeding site and gently press the site for 1-2 minutes with sterile gauze.
2- Angiography:
-Sprinkle the powder over the puncture site before removing the sheath.
- Let the blood jet and powder mix with blood, then press the powder on the puncture site.
- Remove the sheath and compress for 2 minutes.
- Reduce the pressure slowly; make sure there is no bleeding and hematoma, then cover the site with transparent ChitoTrans dressing. Place sand bag for 30 minutes.
- Let the patient rests for 30 minutes.
- No need for long period of sand bags.
3-Dialysis:
-Before removing angiocath sprinkle the powder over the puncture site.
- Remove the catheter & let the powder mix with blood.
- press the powder on the site for 2 minutes.
- Make sure bleeding has stopped then cover the site with transparent ChitoTrans dressing.
